What is that #artifact in DSS2 Red (0.975 μm) image?

The DSS2 images are taken from photographic plates...so that could have been a crack in the plate or similar.

Good question. Could be phot. artifact. POSS-II also had satellite trails and "B52s in formation flying exercises" (Reid et al 1991 PASP)

Could be satellite #trails or an airplane.

Could satellite turn in this way (through 20 arc-sec), I think in this scale it should be straight line
