A weird star.

I have noticed that SED light curve of this star peaks in about 3µm wavelength and papers say it is a carbon star. Do all carbon stars have that kind of SED light curve?

Here's another object of that kind.

I'm not a Mira expert, but a Mira variable can have dust shells that conceivably could be thick enough to create significant extinction in the visible.

These two have more extinction than usual. Does that mean they have recently have a huge material outburst or they're very near to becoming protoplanetary nebulae?

I am also not an expert on carbon stars or Mira variables, but yes, I think these stars are en route to becoming planetary nebulae.

Ok. I found a few more of those. Strangely, all these are located in Small Magellanic Cloud.
