Uncertain about bleed from object in DSS2 Red, possible contamination in WISE images

  • ridderho by ridderho

Thanks for the help; just joined yesterday & am trying to learn a bit more beyond the basic guide to help with better classifications. For this object, there's an object just outside the DSS2 red/IR images at the 12 o'clock position. In the IR wavelength, the object appears cleanly outside of the red circle, but has some bleed in the red wavelength. Besides the artifact in the same image (which I'm assuming is negligible since it only appears in one wavelength?), not sure if that bleed in the red image would count as a "multiple objects" issue or not.

Also, there's a bit of what appears to be contamination in the WISE 1 image (4 o'clock) as well as some fairly widespread intermediate returns on the WISE 4 image (especially 7 o'clock through 10 o'clock) that make me on the fence about the "extends beyond" issue.

    Appreciate any guidance!

Hi @ridderho, welcome to DD! Regarding the 12 o'clock object, unless more than half of it is in the red circle, we don't mark it as "multiple object". It is a bit extended in WISE 4
